Chip Cards

AIM Credit Union has begun rolling out its EMV chip-enhanced credit card to members.

The new cards are being issued and phased in based on expiration date. The EMV credit card contains an embedded microchip which holds information that is encrypted, making it extremely difficult for the card to be copied or counterfeited.

EMV chip-enhanced cards are processed a little different than your magnetic strip credit card. Watch this short 45-second video to see how to use your new card at merchant locations.

The goal of the chip card is to provide cardholders with a more secure and flexible method for making purchases. Cardholders will be able to enjoy the peace of mind of added security, along with the same benefits they have always enjoyed with their previous card.
